Yonah_shimmelRectangular, round, bell-shaped, or tear-dropped, knish has been with me for as long as memory. The heart holds dear soft slices of serpentine loaves my Aunt Rachel once baked in the oven of her home on Long Island. What wouldn’t I give right now for a taste of that. Potato or kasha. It doesn’t matter.

Laura Silver has passion for knish, too. And a book about it.
